Arlo Guthrie - "Oklahoma Hills (Live)"
Right now, we’ve got RSR family playing the Woody Guthrie Folk Festival in Okemah, OK, making “Oklahoma Hills (Live)” the perfect song for this week!
The festival, started in 1998, is held around Woody’s birthday each year to celebrate his life and music. This year, Annie Guthrie, as well as Sarah Lee Guthrie and her daughter Robin Guthrie-Irion, are all performing! Break a leg!
The words and music to “Oklahoma Hills” were composed by Woody and Jack Guthrie. We choose Arlo’s version from the album “Here Come The Kids” to feature this week as the kids (and grandkid) carry on the Guthrie legacy in Okemah.
“Here Come The Kids: The Tour Celebrating Woody Guthrie’s Centennial” was recorded live at the Old Town School of Folk Music in October of 2013, featuring Abe Guthrie, Bobby Sweet, and Terry A La Berry.
