Arlo Guthrie - "Me and Bobby McGee"

Arlo Guthrie -

We have a special song for you this week folks! We have decided to feature Arlo’s version of “Me and Bobby McGee” this week.

This classic tune was written by Kris Kristofferson and was first recorded by Roger Miller in 1969. However, the most recognizable version is Janis Joplin’s, released in 1971. You may not know it, but it is actually Arlo who taught her the song after learning it himself from Ramblin’ Jack Elliott. Arlo’s rendition made its way onto the album, “Live in Sydney”, recorded live at the Seymour Theatre Center in Sydney, Australia on June 12th, 2004.

Just a reminder! Today is also the last day to take advantage of the various sales going on at Rising Son. Discounts last until 11:59 ET tonight.
